“Survival of the fittest.”
The phrase was first maneuvered by Herbert Spencer to compare his economic theories with Darwin’s biological theories. Spencer’s rendition is a perfect reflection of the dynamic environment businesses today operate in. For an industry like trucking that has been behind the technology curve for long, the story is no different. According to Omer Cheema—a seasoned technology executive and a serial entrepreneur with deep experience in the trucking industry—due to transformation in the trucking industry in last two years, with enforced electronic logging and stricter regulations, lower margins and tariff battles, the small and mid-size companies took a big toll on recession. The only ones to manage the impact and capacity were the large companies. “While small and mid-sized companies are striving to remain efficient, large fleets are surviving effortlessly. What’s the difference, one might ask. The answer is technology,” says Cheema. This market gap, combined with the zeal to become a catalyst in the trucking industry, spurred the genesis of LoadStop. With the thought for provisioning business survival and profitability for small and mid-sized trucking companies that only one percent of the large level companies could afford, Cheema along with his partner Raza Ali founded LoadStop—a company that is transforming the trucking industry with technology. “Unlike other startups in the logistics space, LoadStop is the only company solely focused on how to make small and mid-sized trucking companies smarter and successful,” adds Cheema.
With LoadStop’s patent-pending Artificial Intelligence-based integrated platform, truck companies can automate end-to-end trucking operations to reduce cost, increase productivity using innovative and emerging technologies like AI, ML, IoT, and the cloud. LoadStop empowers its clients with three main products— Smart Dispatcher, Visibility 360, and Smart TMS. To automate load planning and sourcing, Smart Dispatcher has been specifically designed to help users discover the most profitable loads for their fleet. Smart dispatcher manages and posts truck capacity, keeps track of market conditions, plans schedules, and continuously searches best rate loads for the fleet. Operating round the clock, the solution never misses any load lead, makes analytical decisions to reduce empty miles, increases fleet utilization, and eliminates errors. It also assists in increasing driver retention and scaling the business without resource investments.
Visibility 360 equips users with real-time visibility into their entire transportation operations and helps to optimize track & trace, compliance, safety, driver retention, maintenance, fleet efficiency, and invoicing. The solution also offers actionable exception management, customizable workflows, operational KPIs, integration with any TMS, predictive ETAs, automated check calls, custom views and notifications, and more. LoadStop also empowers clients with predictive and prescriptive analytics for driving intelligent probable predictions about unknown future events.

Lastly, Smart TMS is a next-generation transport management system that allows automating 80 percent of the client’s transportation operations. From intelligent load management and transportation plan execution, and automated fleet management to smart compliance and document management, settlements and invoice automation and fleet performance management, Smart TMS is a single solution covering diverse aspects of the trucking business. At the core, LoadStop’s solutions leverage smart technologies like AI that learn and become smarter every minute. “We use AI capabilities to interact with the software in a more natural manner utilizing multi-channels like voice, text, mobile along with web resulting better user experience and productivity,” informs Cheema.
The efficiency of LoadStop was on full display when the company assisted three of its California-based clients that were operating in geographically distributed markets across the U.S. With each carrier operating with 22, 35, 140 units respectively, the clients had complete production instance implementation and utilized full suite of software products offered by LoadStop. The results have been overwhelming. Post LoadStop deployment, the clients automated 80 percent of their operations and witnessed up to 15 percent increase in fleet utilization and 10 times increase load leads volume. They also have reduced empty miles by up to 50 percent, operational errors and compliance and safety risks by up to 90 percent. LoadStop also assisted the clients to decrease late deliveries by 75 percent.
Success stories with significant results as such have placed LoadStop at the forefront of the trucking industry. “Our solutions do not just provide a system of entry or data point to enter data and manage invoices; we focus on improving the bottom line of the trucking companies by optimizing smallest of aspects in their fleet operations,” says Ali. Apart from being solely focused on the trucking industry, the uniqueness of the company stems from its highly customizable workflows that can fit into any trucking business. “What makes us distinct is the fact that we never recommend replacement or elimination of client’s existing technology. Instead, we integrate with all available data from existing tools, partners and services and combine the real-time data from location to drivers, trucks, customer, market and help clients make smart decisions based on the data,” adds Cheema. While collaboration forms an essential aspect of the equation, LoadStop’s solutions focus on continuous collaboration with all the stakeholders, drivers, dispatchers, brokers and customers in real-time, thereby reducing operational exceptions and mitigating risks on the go.
LoadStop believes in building strategic partnerships instead of transactional client relations. “Instead of patching the legacy footprint, our solution is built from the ground up, utilizing the emerging technologies. Innovation runs at the core of our platform,” says Cheema. Continuing on its innovation in the trucking realm, LoadStop has no plans of slowing down. The company currently covers markets in California and aims to expand its footprint to rest of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico by mid next year and Europe the year after. “We are looking to collaborate and connect brokers and shippers with our products, creating an autonomous trucking network that connects and integrates with all stakeholders seamlessly in real-time,” concludes Cheema.
